Taxicab Information

Airport pick-up and other third party fees, and Hawaii General Excise Tax

As of Nov. 21, 2022, taxicabs in the City and County of Honolulu may pass on to their customers the nonrefundable airport pick-up fees, other third party fees and the Hawaii general excise tax (GET), under certain key conditions.  Click here for details.

Baggage charges and fuel surcharge

A public hearing was held on Nov. 28, 2022 to amend the Rules and Regulations of the Department of Customer Services relating to taxicabs.  The amendments increased the maximum rate for taxicab fares and baggage charges, and allowed for a fuel surcharge.  Click here for the proposed rules.
