Public Auction of
Abandoned and Unclaimed Vehicles

Towed and unclaimed vehicles are periodically sold by auction as is, sold as junk, disposed, or donated to a governmental agency. 

Vehicles that are to be sold are listed below.

The minimum bid for each vehicle sold at auction is $50.

Vehicles may be inspected within five calendar days prior to the day of auction by appointment with the tow company.

Vehicles will be sold as is and where is by online internet bidding using the city’s Vendor Self Service system.

  • The auction for law enforcement towed vehicles will begin on April 3, 2024, at 8 a.m.
  • The auction for vehicles towed as abandoned will begin on April 4, 2024, at 8 a.m.
  • All auctions will begin closing at 10 a.m. each respective day.

Buyer's Responsibilities

The buyer must pay all towing, storage and any other expenses incurred at the close of the bid. Failure to pay all expenses will be cause for disqualification.
 
Payment, in the exact amount, shall be by cash, money order, or cashier’s check from a local bank, credit union or financial institution, made payable to City and County of Honolulu and preprinted by the issuing institution.
 

Transfer of ownership or transfer of ownership with storage of vehicle must be recorded within 30 days of the auction or a transfer fee penalty of $60 will be charged.
