Chair Robotti called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Quorum WAS established with 9 members present. Note: This 13-member Board requires 7 members to establish quorum and to take official Board action.

Honolulu Police Department (HPD) District 1 [0:04:56]: Lieutenant Arnold Sagucio reported the following:
• March 2024 Statistics: There were 2 motor vehicle thefts, 1 burglary, 3 thefts, 5 unauthorized entry into motor vehicle (UEMV), 4 assaults, 1 sex assault, 2 drug offenses, and 387 calls for service. For more information, go to https://www.honolulupd.org/.
• Safety Tip: Distracted Driving – Please put your cell phones down and be attentive to your surroundings while driving. With all the construction being done and spring upcoming, there will be an increase in pedestrian traffic. Drive with care. Other distractions that are notable are eating while driving and listening to loud music.

HPD District 7 [0:07:02]: Sergeant Rob Libarios reported the following:
• March 2024 Statistics: There were 21 motor vehicle thefts, 2 burglaries, 14 thefts, 19 UEMVs, and 6,238 calls for service. For more information, go to https://www.honolulupd.org/.
• Safety Tip: Be Aware of Your Surroundings – Walk against traffic, wear bright clothes, and walk more toward the inside of curbs.

• Safety Tip: Evacuation Planning – Have an emergency preparedness plan ready in case of an environmental emergency, fire, or natural disaster. Know two ways out of your home, and consider the route you will take if you need to evacuate from your neighborhood due to an emergency. Visit fire.honolulu.gov to learn more. Leave early enough to avoid being caught in fire, smoke, or road congestion. Establish a predetermined location, such as a well-prepared neighbor or relative’s house, a low-risk area, or a shelter or evacuation center. Comment Period for Affordable Housing Project [1:55:49]: Resident Alicia Ruelke announced that Ikenakea Development is accepting comments on their project at 1234 Alexander Street over a 10-day period.

Concerns in the Area [1:56:39]: Resident Ian Ross raised concerns related to the Ala Wai Flood Mitigation project and the transfer of Piikoi Mini Park to a private buyer.

Upcoming Events [1:58:59]: Resident Laura Ruby shared there are piles of mango tree mulch at the Mō’ili’ili Japanese Cemetery and to come get if you would like on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Ruby gave an update on her request for neighborhood boards to adopt a resolution requesting a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Ala Wai Bridge project. There will be a meeting on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. near the bridge site.
