United States Lifeguard Association


The United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) is America’s nonprofit professional association of beach lifeguards and open water rescuers. The USLA works to reduce the incidence of death and injury in the aquatic environment through public education, national lifeguard standards, training programs, promotion of high levels of lifeguard readiness, and other means.

The Department of Health, Injury Prevention and Control Section, EMS & Injury Prevention System Branch, collaborates with partners across the state to address the leading causes of injury that include: drowning prevention, fall prevention, poisoning prevention, suicide prevention, traffic safety, and violence and abuse prevention.

KIPC’s mission is to prevent and reduce injuries to children in Hawaiʻi through programs, providing safety information, and legislative guidance.

ThinkFirst’s Mission is to prevent brain, spinal cord and other traumatic injuries through education, research and advocacy.

EMS provides quality pre-hospital emergency medical care and services to residents and visitors of Oʻahu, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
