Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 22 beginning 7 p.m. in Waimānalo Public & School Library
Following community concerns regarding the reconstruction of two comfort stations at Waimānalo Beach Park, the City and County of Honolulu and the project’s consultant are inviting residents to discuss the options available for this park improvement project.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2025 beginning 7 p.m. in the Waimānalo Public & School Library, located within Waimānalo Elementary & Intermediate School.
During the meeting, the City and the project’s consultant (Architects Pacific, Inc.) will detail the possibilities for the two comfort stations (bathroom buildings) located within the 37.56-acre park. This includes their design, layout, number of toilets & sinks, amount of changing areas, and costs.
Previously, public meetings were held in June 2023 and February 2024 regarding this reconstruction effort, along with additional improvement projects for the park’s Pahinui Pavilion and recreation building. While the focus of this upcoming meeting will be the two comfort stations, these pavilion and recreation building projects are progressing.
Following this upcoming meeting, copies of the options presented will be made available online at: bit.ly/WaimanaloBathrooms
