
HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS), the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) and the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) announced Thursday a series of road closures that will be in effect on Saturday, January 25, 2025 for the Final Salute for Firefighter I Jeffrey Fiala.
The following ROAD CLOSURES will be in effect on Saturday:
- SOUTH STREET (6:30m. to 3 p.m.):
Two ʻEwa side lanes + bike lane closure, from Auahi Street to Queen Street
- QUEEN STREET (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.):
The road will be closed from Punchbowl Street to South Street. HPD to allow buses and local traffic only during the closure.
- MISSION LANE (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.):
Road closed from Kawaiahaʻo Street to Queen Street. HPD to allow local traffic only during the closure.
- PUNCHBOWL STREET (approximately 1:30 p.m. to 2:15m.):
From King Street to Queen Street, for procession route.
The following roads will have PARKING PROHIBITIONS between Friday, January 24 at 10 p.m. until Saturday, January 25 at 3 p.m.:
- SOUTH STREET: Both sides, between Auahi Street and Queen Street
- HALEKAUWILA STREET: Both sides, between Punchbowl Street and South Street
- PUNCHBOWL STREET: Both sides, King Street to Queen Street
- MISSION LANE: Between Queen Street and Kawaihaʻo Street
Cars parked on these roads during this prohibition will be towed.
The timeline for events will proceed as follows:
8:30 to 8:45 a.m. – Procession from mortuary begins
9:30 to 9:45 a.m. – Procession to reach HFD Headquarters
1:30 to 2:15 p.m. – Final Salute before departure to the private burial via Punchbowl (South Street after Quinn Lane, Queen Street, and Punchbowl between Queen and King will be completely shut down until the procession passes)
3 p.m. – All roadways reopened to normal traffic conditions.
