Low Income Transit Fare Program

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Benefits

Individuals currently receiving SSI benefits from the Social Security Administration are eligible for the Low Income Transit Fare Program and should not submit or be included in an application.

How to obtain a Low Income Transit Fare HOLO card for SSI beneficiaries

Bring the following required documents to the Transit Pass Office at the Kalihi Transit Center:

1.  Supplemental Security Income Benefit Verification Letter from the Social Security Administration.

2.  Official, valid photo identification (ID) such as a Passport, Driver’s License, Driver’s Permit, State ID, Birth Certificate for individuals 17 years of age or younger.

If applicable:

3.  Adult or Youth HOLO card (if SSI beneficiary already has one).

4.  TheHandi-Van Card/HOLO card (if SSI beneficiary is paratransit-eligible).

5.  Cash or credit card (if SSI beneficiary wishes to load value on the Low Income Transit Fare HOLO card).
