Final Public Meeting being held on June 12 for the Draft Oʻahu Vision Zero Action Plan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Friday, June 7, 2024
HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services (DTS) and Honolulu Complete Streets will be releasing the Draft Oʻahu Vision Zero Action Plan for public review on June 12, 2024. Following the release, the City will be hosting a public meeting on June 12th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom to gather public input.
On average, one person dies every week in a traffic crash on Oʻahu streets. The City is committed to changing this to achieve safe streets with zero traffic fatalities or serious injuries on Oʻahu by 2040. The Oʻahu Vision Zero Action Plan provides a roadmap to achieve this vision. The Plan includes a comprehensive set of actions range from improvements at high-injury locations, to speed limit changes, to more education and enforcement.
Participants are encouraged to share thoughts, personal experiences, and feedback on the proposed strategies and actions. To find out more on the Oʻahu Vision Zero Action Plan, please visit www.honolulu.gov/completestreets/visionzero.
