Waipi‘o Soccer Complex closed until June 21, 2024

All of the facilities at the Waipiʻo Soccer Complex are closed until June 21, 2024 for continued efforts to rejuvenate the fields and improve their condition.

The coordinated rejuvenation work is expected to be finished this summer, just in time for several popular soccer tournaments scheduled to begin in late June.

The ultimate goal of this eight-week closure and complex improvement effort is to increase the quality of the fields to tournament-level specifications by eradicating weeds, stimulating new grass growth, leveling uneven surfaces, and other repairs.

Up until this point we tried to accommodate field usage, with limited recreational play, but even the moderate usage of the fields was undermining the rejuvenation efforts. This lead to the decision to completely close the complex for about eight weeks.

The decision to completely close the fields for recreational use was made in collaboration with local soccer leagues and other field permittees. We are working with these users to find alternative locations to accommodate their needs during the closure. We appreciate their assistance with the improvements, and ask for your continued patience while we work together to improve this popular soccer complex.
