Registering for an Amateur Radio License Plate

 

NOTE: All amateur radio license requests and processing must me made by appointment.  Walk-ins will not be allowed. To make an appointment call the department at 808-723-8960 Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The Department of Emergency Management is located at 650 S. King Street in the basement of the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building To submit an application bring the following items with you to your appointment:

  • FCC License (we do not issue to NOVICE Class)
  • $17.00 in cash (cost of plates), we don’t accept checks, credit or debit cards
  • Provide your daytime phone number and local mailing address

Please be advised that it can take a while to process and receive your plates.

Picking up your Amateur Radio License Plate

You will be notified when your amateur radio license plate is ready for pick up. You must bring the following items when picking up your plates:

  • Current registration form (temporary registration forms are not acceptable).
  • Current vehicle license plates to exchange (temporary plates are not acceptable).

You’ll then need to proceed to your nearest Satellite City Hall to update your registration.

Exchanging Your License Plates

Please call the Department of Emergency Management at 808-723-8960 to provide your call sign prior to coming in so we can have your plates ready for exchange. You must bring the following items when exchanging your plates:

  • Current registration form (temporary registration forms are not acceptable).
  • Amateur Radio License Plate

After picking up your plates, you’ll then need to proceed to your nearest Satellite City Hall to update your registration.
