Traffic Advisory: Kūhiō Avenue emergency pavement repairs
HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction is advising the public of an upcoming emergency roadway repair project on Kūhiō Avenue, between Kālaimoku Street and Launiu Street. Repair work will include sawcutting, removal of existing concrete pavement, excavation, and the installation of new roadway pavement, striping and pavement markers. The left lane of Kūhiō Avenue was closed on January 4, 2024 by the Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) due to the damaged roadway pavement.
Construction is anticipated to start on Friday, January 12, 2024 and is expected to continue for approximately three weeks, barring any unforeseen conditions. Work hours will be Monday to Friday, and possibly include Saturdays and Sundays, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Lane closures on Kūhiō Avenue will extend from ʻOlohana Street to Kaiʻolu Street. One lane in each direction on Kūhiō Avenue will remain open during working hours.
