HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction wishes to inform the public of an upcoming Dillingham Boulevard Bridge repair project located over the Kapālama Canal, in Iwilei, Honolulu, between Kohou and Kōkea Streets.
This bridge improvement project is being performed to enhance the lifespan and structural integrity of the bridge by repairing spalled bridge substructure concrete.
Construction is expected to start April 29th, 2024 and will last approximately 4 months. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Please note that the contractor will be closing one sidewalk across the bridge at a time in order to perform their work. The public is asked to use the appropriate sidewalk that is open and available each day.
“Vehicles will still be allowed to cross the bridge during construction. The contractor, Sea Engineering Inc. will be coordinating traffic during their day time work hours. “NO PARKING” signs will be placed along portions Kōkea St. on both sides of Dillingham Blvd. a week in advance of the start of the project. Drivers are asked to observe the dates and times of these notices as vehicles parked in posted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.
