City to begin curb ramp work in various locations

O‘AHU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is advising the public that a curb ramp project at various locations on O‘ahu  will begin on April 1, 2024, with work projected to be completed by the end of October, 2024. Work is expected to run on weekdays, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

The project includes, but is not limited to, the demolition, removal and disposal of existing pavements, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and curb ramps; construction of new sidewalks, curb ramps, and curb and gutters; reconstructing of pavement transitions; adjustment of utility box frames and covers; and restoration of all impacted pavement striping.

Travelers in the area are advised to proceed with caution, observe all traffic control devices, posted signs and Special Duty Officers. Please use extreme caution in these areas or use alternative routes. Drivers should anticipate delays and allow extra travel time while travelling through the work area.

Kaweloalii Street & Kaweloalii Place

Kaweloalii Street & Hokuahiahi Street

Waimaka Street & Ahaula Street

 

Salt Lake:

Ala Ilima Street & Ala Napuaa Place

 

Kalihi:

Notley Street & Meyers Street

 

Kamehameha Heights:

Makuahine Place & Makuahine Street and Kaikunane Loop

 

Mānoa:

O‘ahu  Avenue & Kamehameha Avenue

 

Kaimuki:

Charles Street & Kapahulu Avenue

 

Āina Haina:

Nenue Place (Midblock) between Hind Drive & Nenue Street

 

Hawai‘i Kai:

Hapuna Place & Hawai‘i Kai Drive

 

Kalama Valley:

Ka‘elekū Street & Kahului Street
