04/11/25 City to begin storm drainage improvement project in Aina Haina

Kailua Boat Ramp OʻAHU —The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction (DDC) announces the reopening of the Kailua Beach Park boat ramp and parking lot following the suspension of the in-water portion of a planned geotechnical investigation. Read More.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 31, and will take place Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (excluding holidays). OʻAHU —The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction (DDC) announces that geotechnical activities are suspended this week due to adverse weather and surf conditions. DDC anticipates that work will resume the week of March 31 and is expected to be completed by April 25, 2025, weather and ocean conditions permitting. Work will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays and weekends, weather and tide permitting. Read More.

The project’s contractor experienced a mechanical failure with its cold planer machine today, and the inoperable piece of equipment is currently blocking two westbound lanes (right and middle) between Hauʻoli Street and Pumehana Street. Read More.
