City’s moped and bicycle services relocating under new appointment-only system

Moped and Bicycle News Release

HONOLULU – An appointment will be required the next time moped and bicycle owners go to get their registrations on the spot at the Kapālama Driver Licensing Center.

The new appointment-only requirement at the city’s Bicycle, Moped and Business License Office takes effect Thursday, Nov. 30, and follows the return of the services to window 16 inside the driver licensing center at 925 Dillingham Blvd in Kalihi.

Appointments must be booked online at www.AlohaQ.org.

“The hope is that the improved and easier access for registering bikes, mopeds and businesses will help efforts to thrive in our commitment to service beyond expectations,” said Kim Hashiro, director of the city’s Department of Customer Services.

The moped, bicycle and business license services return to the driver licensing center after a short stint in an office on the second floor of Kapālama Hale. Relocating services to the driver licensing office will make it more convenient for the public.

Bicycle and moped registrations handled through the window services will be issued over the counter, unless it is a dealer drop off. Business license applications will be accepted at the window, but the license will be mailed to the applicant.
