City makes Kapahulu road test site full service
HONOLULU – The city’s newest road test site has been expanded to a full-service operation.
Aspiring drivers who now pass their behind-the-wheel exam at the Kapahulu Road Test Office will be able to process on site the paperwork for a Hawai’i driver’s license.
Meaning, would-be drivers who passed the road test at the Kapahulu location will no longer have to process their paperwork at the Sheridan Road Test Office, which permanently closed Friday, Dec. 29.
All resources from the Sheridan Park site have been relocated to Kapahulu location at 1112 Kapahulu Ave., where applicants can book appointments six months in advance.
“The newly upgraded road-test operation at Kapahulu is the latest example of our renewed focus on providing services that exceed expectations,” said Kim Hashiro, director of the city’s Department of Customer Services, which administers more than 60,000 road tests annually across O’ahu.
The road test service at Kapahulu will be available 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, on an appointment-only basis. Appointments must be booked online at www12.Honolulu.gov/csdarts. For now, only cash or checks will be accepted for payment at the Kapahulu location.
